Kim Checkeye is a fabulous speaker! Our oldest daughter came home from a girls’ retreat and was so excited about one particular woman. She explained how this woman spoke from her heart and really knew about the problems and challenges of a young girl. About two years later, we were helping with an Encounter weekend, and Kim happened to be one of the speakers there. We finally got the chance to hear Kim’s testimony and teaching. Not only did she captivate the youth in the building, but she did the same for the adults who were chaperoning. Last year, we invited Kim to our Romans 12 Service Camp. She spent the week connecting with the youth and adults as she worked along side them. When we returned to camp and settled in for some worship and Bible study, Kim shared her heart with us. She made a huge impact on everyone who attended or helped. It is obvious that she has a special gift from God to listen and guide people, both individually and in a group, into a closer relationship with Jesus!

Our committee felt a real desire to explore the theme of “hungering and thirsting after God” for our annual retreat. When we approached Kim about our subject she offered to pray through it and see where God would lead. The thing that stands out the most was the preparation and effort she took to pray through and write a new series of sessions that was tailor-made to our specific needs. We felt God moving, months ahead of time, as we talked through this subject. Kim has a desire to be used of God in whatever setting He leads her. She speaks directly and with intention. She came with a message on her heart, from God, and wanted to deliver it to the best of her ability.
