Below are a few speaking themes that I have created over the past years in ministry. However, this is not an exhausted list. Many times when I go to speak to a group, they have a theme for their event. If that is the case, I will begin to pray and seek the Lord on a teaching based on that theme. Please contact me for other speaking themes or if you have an event with a theme already picked out.
I Am Chosen and Cleaned Up
We all know the story of the adulterous woman in John 8. However, do you think she knew that God was going to use her story to change the lives of others for thousands of years to come? Do you think that she thought for one second that God would put her testimony in His Bible for all to see? Of course not! The thought never crossed her mind. What about you? Do you believe that God can use your life to impact the world? One of the biggest lies that the enemy has told people is that God can’t use them because of their past. As we dig into the Bible we will see time and time again that God chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless. Do you believe it?
I Am Transformed
Do you ever feel like you keep going around the same old mountain? Do you keep struggling with the same old issues in life? As we study the life of Peter we will see how Jesus transformed him from Simon (the brash, impulsive, speaking without thinking, whining, denying Christ) to Peter the rock! He became a man who waited on the Lord for what the Lord had promised and was transformed into a bold, outspoken, obedient and patient man of God. Peter never stopped following Jesus; he just stumbled at times and tried to take the lead. Hmmm, doesn’t that sound just like us? We look at six major points Jesus taught Peter in his process of transformation and we will apply it to our lives.
I Am Called
So many times when we get our life on tract with God, the opposition comes in like a flood. We begin to doubt what God has called us to do and we begin to wonder whether or not God really wants to use us. As we study the Word, we will see clearly that God has given us talents and abilities to use to equip and encourage the body of Christ. However, we must rise up and listen! We must rise up out of our complacency and fight for our brothers, sisters, husbands, wives and children. We are not to be afraid when the opposition comes but we are to remember the Lord who is great and awesome. (Nehemiah 4:12) Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ? Are you ready to allow God to use you to shout the good news from the roof tops?
Create in Me a Servant’s Heart
Oh how we hate that word, servant! Just the sound of it strikes a chord in us. Yet, Jesus clearly teaches us as He takes on the very nature of a servant that He has set an example for us. Jesus wanted to show the disciples the extent of His love so He bowed down before them and washed their feet. Why? Why would the Son of God do this? Because He came to this earth to serve and to give His life as a ransom. (Luke 22:27) He made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servant. (Phil 2:5&7) Jesus told us that He had set an example for us and that we would be blessed if we followed Him. Our lives are not our own. Our lives are to be used by the Master so we can serve others and they can see the love of Jesus through our lives.
Be a Woman Who Thirsts and Hungers After Righteousness
Do you look at other people and say “I sure wish I had passion like they do” or “I wish I had that kind of relationship with the Lord?” Well, you can! God longs to have a deep and intimate relationship with you. It all starts with Matthew 5: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Together, we will dig into the Word of God and study three essential areas of our lives in order for us to begin this journey to have a passionate life set on fire for God.
God’s Precious Promises
According to 2 Peter 1:4, God has given us His great and precious promises so that we may partake in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires. Sounds great doesn’t it? We can escape the things of our flesh because of God’s precious promises. Well, then why do I still struggle with anger, lying, gossip etc.? God’s Word has at least 30,000 different promises recorded in Scripture. Of course it would be difficult to know them all by heart but we can look at key promises that will enable us to live a life surrendered to God. We will study some of these promises that we can hold onto as our life line in this world.
The Father’s Love
Did you grow up in a family that had a hard time showing love to one another? Do you have a hard time believing that God of the universe loves you? Do you base His love for you on what you have experienced with friends or family members? This is a common problem in many Christians today. They believe God has forgiven them but they truly do not understand the depth of His love for them. Many times, we see God as we see our earthly fathers. God takes great delight in us and He desires for us to understand just how much He cares for us.
Woman of Influence
As we look at the history of America, we see powerful women like Clara Barton who started the Red Cross, Harriet Tubman who helped free over 300 slaves, Eleanor Roosevelt who played a role in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Jeannette Rankin who was the first woman to have a seat in the US House of Representatives to influence the world. Do you believe that God has placed you in your exact location so He could use you to influence your home, community, church, county, state and beyond? As we study the Proverbs 31 woman, we will see what made this precious lady such an influence in her home and in her community. We will study her character and what made her a woman of dignity and strength. She is truly a woman that we can strive to be.
Names of God
Do you struggle knowing who God is and who you are in Him? Do you long to understand to know Him in a deeper manner? There is no better way to understand the character of God than to study His names. During this time of teaching we will touch on the various names of God and how they apply to who we are in Him. We will learn how standing on His name alone during a time of troubles or tribulation will change the way you see the situation. Kim will draw from her times of struggles as she shares her personal experiences with God and how they taught her how to stand in truth of who God truly is.
Here am I. Send me.
Isaiah 6:8 “The I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said “Here am I. Send me.” As we study Isaiah chapter 6, we will see that Isaiah had this powerful encounter with the Lord and how he had undergone a radical change of insight and attitude. Because his burden of guilt was removed, he possessed a new freedom and a new insight to what God was asking him to do. Isaiah was no longer the same man and because of this, he became more fit for service then he could have been otherwise. Do you realize that the Lord wants to do the same thing with you? He wants to have an encounter with you so radical that you will not be the same. You will be molded and changed so that you will be a man or woman more fit for service.
